Mulching is one of the best things you can do for your garden but using it incorrectly can have the opposite effects. The use of mulch in flower and vegetable gardens has many benefits, such as weed prevention and soil moisture retention, however with the dozen or more options of mulch available, how do you choose one? You are invited to join Whiteside County Master Gardeners and discover the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of mulches available. This program will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10AM at the Sterling Extension Office located at 12923 Lawrence Rd. Sterling, IL. This is a free workshop, but registration is required as spaced is limited to COVID guidelines. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masking is required for the program. .
