Healthy Aging Summit
Having a healthy lifestyle and knowledge of resources can help you stay healthier longer while improving your quality of life. Featuring three dynamic speakers, "The POWER of Aging" will help you examine the physical, nutritional, emotional and social factors of healthy aging. Presentations include: I Have Diabetes – What Do I Eat? Having diabetes means making constant decisions about what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat. It can be confusing, not to mention exhausting. It doesn’t have to be that way! Learn how different foods affect your blood glucose and how to make better choices. This session will also feature information on controlling blood glucose for those who do not have diabetes. Two Heads are Better Than One Give your wits a workout with this interactive session on brain health. Staying socially connected is a key to having a healthy, strong brain throughout life. Join us as we review the lifestyle factors that contribute to brain health, explore the importance of social connection in supporting brain health, and partake in intellectual challenges that are good for your noggin’!
